Daft Punk and Hip Hop

Daft Punk, "Harder Faster Better Stronger (Neptunes remix)" (YSI link)

Daft Punk, "Aerodynamics (Slum Village remix)"

Is there any other choice for a follow-up to the Daft Punk/Kanye post than this one on the Harder Faster Better Stronger Hip Hop Remixes EP? The answer is no. I think these are the only two officially sanctioned remixes by prominent hip-hop producers, definitely feel like the Neptunes were an excellent choice, despite their lack of remix projects, just on some masters coming together shit. I actually enjoy their remix of "Harder Faster Better Stronger," although it's a far cry from the original. They turn it into a much lighter, less robotic track, sounds like more of a Pharrell joint to me. It's got the "ahh" background singing samples, a rubbery bassline, a laid back beat, some forgettable Pharell rhymes, a fun "Daft Punk" shout out, good time.

The Slum Village remix isn't really happening for me. I need to give it some more listens to figure out why, right now I'm off to see Daft Punk. Daft Punk! See y'all in Coney Island and Studio B late night for the Ed Banger/Rapture afterparty. Night of a lifetime.
