Justin Timberlake, "Like I Love You (Basement Jaxx vocal mix)"

Justin Timberlake, "Rock Your Body (Paul Oakenfold remix)"

You know I'm always trying to keep track of the post-N'Sync discography, which basically means whatever Justin Timberlake puts out. Anyone who reads this blog should know that this ain't some ironic post, as I loved Justified and think that JTim puts out some great tracks.

This one, "Sexyback," is the lead single off of his upcoming album, FutureSex/LoveSounds. I went in a little apprehensive to be honest, hearing the complaints that it was cheesy and uninspired. I don't know, I kinda like it. It's not necessarily a club banger, but it seems like a nice counterpart to the Nelly Furtado joints recently. Both share Timbaland production, bring a grown and sexy vibe to the radio. Timbo laces Mr. Diaz (wait, are they still together?) with a nice, synth-stabbed beat, It's not as catchy as my personal fav, "Rock Your Body." But, it's not a bad start and has me looking forward to more from the album.

As a treat, here are two remixes of hits from the last album, one from a favorite here, Basement Jaxx, the other from a name no one could have expected to see, Paul Oakenfold. The Basement Jaxx remix doesn't transcend the original, whose deliberate pace works perfectly with the vocals. The Jaxx boys speed things and add a farting bass, turning the sexy down in favor of a one-night stand feel. The Oakenfold mix isn't that bad, turning the original into a disco standout, complete with a loping bass and handclaps. It really does sound like this could have been the original, definitely not what I expected from the superstar DJ Oakenfold.

-Dennis Miller takes a job as Fox News contributor. Nice to see that he could take time out from not doing stand-up comedy or boring America with a TV show so low-rated CNBC had to cancel it. Maybe he could 'contribute' to the war he is so gung-ho about, by, I don't know, joining the Army and fighting in Iraq?

-Last request for a host recommendation, as these files are reaching their max too quickly and it's time to make this place looking more permanent and professional. Holler at me ASAP.
