It's a new month, we're gonna try to get back to more current dance music stuff, so let's start off with a bang, with possibly the song of the year, Justice's "D.A.N.C.E." You've heard the song, whether you go to big clubs or dive bars, it seems to be everywhere. Rightfully so, as the French bols have put together a dance classic, catchy yet banging, one of the rare tracks that an stick in the mind of everyone, luring them to the dark side of house, techno and the clubs.

Not surprisingly, two of the biggest names in the remix game, MSTRKRFT and the Alan Braxe/Fred Falke combo, were invited to re-work the original. My favorite is the one by by Alan Braxe and Fred Falke, as the guys bring their gorgeous synth sounds to make "D.A.N.C.E." a gorgeous, lush track. At times, I feel like this one would have worked perfectly as an instrumental interlude during an 80s movie, during a scene when the nerdy guy and hot girl start to connect. Other times, it seems like it would fit perfectly in the midst of a disco set, around 2:15, when the bliss and drugs and smiles are at their peak. MSTRKRFT do their thing, bringing some harder drums, a rattle and an edgy bass, turning this one into more of a rocker. The vocals are more of another instrument here, less of a focal point like they are in the original; the music never really drops off, feel like this one will have maximum impact on the dancefloor.

Okay, I know that these are a little old, but want to start slow as we dig back into the dance music world. Much more to come.
