DANCE LA, Excuses Excuses SF, Outdanced CHI, Disco Down NYC

Think of it as the calm before the storm, the night before the night before Thanksgiving. The new(ish) DANCE party in LA isn't waiting around for no stinkin' Wednesday night, this is that new mega-club jawn that we mentioned last week. They're stepping it up a notch this week by bringing in Kitsune's Guns'n'Bombs as headlining DJs this week, should be a huge indie dance rave with them and Paparazzi, Bip Jeffington, Joaquin, Bamaca and Dskotek. This is a great way to kick off the holiday week/end, Arena (6655 Santa Monica Blvd) has two rooms, two levels, plenty of room, so fill the place up and take advantage. $5 before 10:30 with flier, go here to print out the flier and also sign up for discount admission. Doors at 9:30, get to it.

-There's no excuses San Francisco to miss the No Excuses party at Pink (2925 16th St). Brought to you by Bigstereo.net the first, third and fifth Tuesday of every month, resident DJs and BigStereo bloggers Rchrd Oh?! and Miss Toats are joined by special guests Frankmusik and Eli Smith tonight for a rad dance party that won't be overrun by all of the Wednesday amateurs. $3 cover, 21+, doors at 10 pm.

-Is there any excuse for being outdanced? Yes, there are, as sometimes the other guy or girl is just a better dancer. There's no shame in doing your best and being outdone. There is shame in, however, in not trying and part of that effort includes going to parties like Outdanced! at the Funky Buddha Lounge (728 W. Grand Ave.) in Chicago. Tonight's edition of the weekly features a live performance from Clique Talk and DJ sets from Jason Tyler and Rand Sevilla. You also get the usual $1 shots and $1 drinks, which should help you not remember being outdanced anyway. $3 cover, presented by Avant Trill, Chicago, be thankful for this great party! Yeah!

-Finally, New York City, this is such a great LES night, Tuesdays are the new Thursdays, I guess. I'm not sure why I haven't mentioned the Disco Down weekly at Happy Ending (302 Broome), but rather than flagellate myself about it, I will simply mention it now and break the pattern of silence. DJ Jess of NC-17 and hostess Marika of Sparkle Nation do this excellent party devoted to the more indie side of things, expect Britpop, indie, new wave, plus some straight dance music and a nice crowd. Tonight it looks like rekLES of Lewd and Unstoppable Perfect fame is a last-minute guest DJ, making this a great night to check this one out if you haven't already. Open bar from 11-12, doors at 10, 21+.

-Finally, on the non-flier side, it's 205 Tuesdays at 205 (205 Chrystie St.) (I believe using the numbers 205 three times in a row like that is an alternate way of calling Candyman), Jacques Renault and Justin Miller, which is my favorite party right now (shhhhhh). Andy Pry is spinning at Darkroom, lots of disco and funk and house and good music, three great stops in the LES, trust me, this is becoming rarer and rarer.
