The Taste Crew Wednesdays at 205 NYC, Moonwalk NYC, Cool Beanz NYC, Exploit PHILA and more

Okay, I got a great comment from a reader last night about the party stuff, I'm gonna try to implement some changes with regards to these posts. We're going to try to get them up by 6 pm every night from here on out, which means that those throwing/DJing parties need to get their bulletins up on myspace and/or their emails to me early in the day. I was posting later and later to accommodate as many parties as possible. But, from here on out, we're going to try to have as much impact on your night, feel like this will only further my goal of helping to get the word out about my favorite DJs and promoters and whatnot.

Short and sweet tonight. I'm gonna focus on the Lower East Side, especially considering what's coming up next music-wise. I haven't given this party its proper due, the Wednesday Nights at 205 Club (205 Chrystie St.) put together by downtown kings The Taste Crew. Resident DJ Equal is joined by another downtown legend, Roxy Cottontail, as she will be spinning an early set upstairs. You also get a set from Naada of Subatomic Soundsystem, as she celebrates her last night in NYC. Email RSVP@thetastecrew.com for entry, this is another essential stop on the best night in the city imo.

-Btw, the Taste guy's have given up the basement at 205 tonight for the Tuned Magazine release party. I don't know much about the magazine, but I do know that they have great taste in DJs, as they've got the Sports crew - Nick Hook, Daryl Palumbo and Glue - and Defidelity 6-5000 spinning all night long in the dark and debaucherous basement. No cover, 10-4 am, 21+.

-You also want to hit up the Moonwalk party, another favorite. This one happens every other Wednesday upstairs at Happy Ending, tonight stars Sammy Bananas from the Certified Bananas crew of Providence, Rhode Island. he's joins fellow guest DJ Chubby Cox and residents Rezound and Cousin Cole for a full night of hip-hop, mash-ups, pop, the kitchen sink really. There's always a good crowd, great space, highly recommnded that this become a part of your schedule. Hosted by the lovely Kitten Crew, free PBR from 11-12, 21+, no cover.

-Wednesday! High Voltage! Dimitry!!! It's time for one of the city's best weeklies as always, which seems to be settling nicely in the bigger digs of The Annex (152 Orchard St.) Tonight looks like another big moment in the life of this party, as Dimitry is adding a co-resident DJ into the mix, Prince Terrence. I don't know much about him, but I have 100% confidence that he will play great music for dancefloor impact, in line with the goals of this party. There's also going to be a live show from Inner Party System from Ultragrrl's Stolen Transmission Records, they'll go on around 11:30. There's the Zygo open bar from 11 until it's gone, RSVP at the going.com site, no cover, 21+.

-Uh oh, the Sweatshop Labor guys look like they may be looking to take over Wednesdays too. I don't know if this Cool Beanz party is a one-time only deal or something more, but it's always good to see these guys involved with anything and I can't think of a better place for them to set up shop than the basement of Lit (93 Second Ave) They are joining forces with Nikki Sneakers to give you a dirty, drunken, wild party that this city desperately needs more of. No cover, doors at 11pm, another awesome flier from this crew. Hope this will be a regular thing, as it would make Wednesdays officially the new Saturdays.

-A new party starts up tonight in Philly, as Exploit will be the new Wednesday night weekly at Sal's (200 S. 12th St.) I believe this one is moving from the Raven Lounge, but whatever, it's not important. What is important is that this is a party dedicated to lots of the music we love here, electro, booty, house, techno, acieed. There's a rotating list of resident DJs, tonight you get Jen Louie and Lady Prowl. You also get a guest set from Karoshi and the site is promising "Electro Madness!" Ironically, that's exactly what I asked for for Hanukkah. No cover, 21+, doors at 9pm. Get behind this one, Philly.

-I would have listed this one on the flier alone, but then I read the description that it's a "60s electro burlesque party." Head to the Barbary (951 Frankford Ave) tonight and check out the Kinky Boots party with resident DJs Fatima and reve and see what exactly that means. Expect French music from various decades, burlesque girls and a super rad nite in Fishtown.

-No flier for this one, but head to Barfly (711 Hennepin Ave) in Minneapolis to catch DJ Bach and Jonathan Ackerman spinning house, techno, electro, all sorts of goodies tonight. It's 18+, $5, $2 well drinks until 2 AM, which won't just get you over the hump, it may leave you crashed and burned at the bottom of the hill.

-More LA happenings with So Sweet Music, as they host a night at The Echo (1822 Sunset Blvd) with Hell Ya! It features 4 bands including So Sweet's Man Like Me, in from the UK. Doors at 8:30 pm, 18+, $5 for 18+, free for 21+, perfect start to the night before you head to Get Low.

-Last but certainly not least, a new monthly is going down in San Francisco called No More Conversations and everything about it looks good. Presented by Emily Betty, Tiri and TheGentleKing.com, this one is dedicated to filthy music and even filthier dancing. The first Wednesday of every month, the 222 Club (222 Hyde@Turk) will be home to a collection of great DJs spinning everything from snap rap to nite music. Tonight, Richie Panic from Robot Rock and Frisco Disco, DJ Sake from Soul Deluxxe and the Throwdown DJs (Emily Betty and Zazueta) will keep your asses moving all night long. $5, seriously this looks like it could be something special.
