Okay, I'm gonna make this a short and concise one, as I had kinda a lame day. It's fitting that I would lead off then with a party called No Big Deal, as I am really trying to believe that phrase. In all honesty, this party is exactly what I need to break out of this funk, featuring some of my favorite NYC DJs, Lauren Flax and Finger On The Pulse, in my favorite hood (that I refuse to give up on!), the Lower East Side. Even better, it looks like we have a new spot, Saint Jeromes (155 Rivington), getting in on the dance party fun. Hosted by Waine a.k.a. Manchild and Conny Wakeup, there's free Svedka and Vitamin Water from 11 until its gone, I think that this is going to be a Tuesday night weekly, which only reinforces my belief that Tuesdays downtown are going to be the best night to go out in NYC in 2008. Yeah!

-Not too far away, it's the usual Happy Ending (302 Broome St) indie and dance paradise, as the two floors feature two great parties. Upstairs, it's DJ Bastard's Disco Down. He welcomes guest DJ Edward of I'm Going To Kill You, who will fit right in with the weekly indie, electro and post-punk menu. Hosted by Marika of Sparkle Nation, there's an open vodka bar here too from 11-12.

Downstairs, it's a Six Six Sick! Christmas, featuring LA's Pink Enemy, who I'm guessing are doing a DJ set and not playing live, and Brooklyn's DJ Kingdom, plus residents Mike Nouveau and Micprobes. If all you wanted for Christmas was a popular weekly party where you could hear everything from Daft Punk to Jigga to DJ Technics while hanging out with the young and fashionable, you should be very happy. Open bar from 11-12, hosted by the 66Sick Girls, 21+.

-Down in Philly, there's a new magazine in town and it's throwing a party to celebrate. Two.One.Five Magazine just released its first issue and they have put together a sick looking party to get their name out. King Britt, Steven Bloodbath, White Ts and White Belts and DJ Statik from the Ill Vibe Collective will all spin at Silk City (5th and Spring Garden) You need to RSVP ASAP to launch@twoonefivemagazine.com, the party is free, doors open at 11.

-A little further east, down in Fishtown, the Roots Radicals party goes down at The Barbary (941 Frankford Ave) DJs Lucky and Opal Rock are doing this one for those who like their rock and punk without irony. To that end, they've brought in special guests McRad to play their skate punk music live. This band features Chuck Treece, which means something even to my gay disco loving ass. Doors are at 7pm, band looks like it will go on around 8:30, perfect early part of the night. $6, $5 Guiness and shot specials, 21+.

-Switching coasts, it's time for another installment of the Dance Tuesdays at Arena (6655 Santa Monica Blvd) This one's serving as the birthday party for LA DJ and resident Paparazzi, which should make it extra special. The birthday boy is spinning in the main room, along with Royal Rumble and Sleazy v, while upstairs Bip Jeffington and Joaquin hold it down. Doors at 9:30, free before 10:30 with flier, 2 rooms, lots of room for people so get out, fill the place up and support the local scene.

-Outside the city in Van Nuys, a new party called Control is starting up with a bang. Resident DJs Ultra Tiger and DJ Jassson have brought in the Acid Girls to blow your minds and melt your faces tonight. I can't say for certainty what the name of the place is, but it appears to be at the Casa Corona. I can say for certain that the address is definitely 14540 Vanowen and it's next to the USA Donuts, so head there and let us know what the name of the building is. Oh, you'll also want to RSVP to controltuesdays@gmail.com, $5 before 10:30, $8 after, 18+, Red Slurpee will be in the house taking photos.
