Okay, who knew that the Midwest loves to get down on Christmas so much? Let's lead off with the most excellent
Dance Robots, Dance crew in Oklahoma City, who are celebrating their 2nd Anniversary tonight with
their 3rd annual XMas party. For those that don't know, these guys started as a website to promote electro music and soon came to become the Midwest party juggernaut we have come to know and love. To celebrate the anniversary and a little known holiday called Christmas, they've brought in
Treasure Fingers from Atlanta's Fuck Yesss party to join with the regulars to create an indie dance Voltron that will melt your face. Those regulars include DRDers
John Bourke, Ryan Reber, B., Joshua Distance, Chitty Chitty Bang and Dylan Mackey, plus allies Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and DJ Phd.
Trash Yourself's Heidi Cannon hosts this rager at Kamp's Deli (1310 NW 25th St), this is the only way you should spend tonight. $5 before 11 or dressed in appropriate XMas attire, $8 after 11 or if you don't step up to the XMas attire challenge. 18+, 10-2am. Congrats again to the whole Dance Robots, Dance crew, look forward to another year of good things from them. Yeah!
-Someone referred to tonight's
Outdanced as a (Lauren) Flaxmas celebration; now, that is a religion I could get behind. For those in Chicago, you have a chance to become believers, just head to Funky Buddha Lounge (728 W. Grand Ave) where DJ Lauren Flax is bringing her 90s party to the Windy City with Rand Sevilla. As always, this night's presented by Avant Trill and Odd Obsession Movies, you should all bring them a gift tonight for putting on a weekly party that consistently brings in great DJs and bands and has cheap-ass drinks. Speaking of which, $1 drinks tonight, no cover, 21+.
-Finally, it's kinda hard picturing LA with its beautiful weather and lack of snow during Christmas. But, the
Dance party at Arena (6655 Santa Monica Blvd) isn't letting nice weather get in the way of enjoying the holiday, as they are doing an Electro Christmas Bash tonight. In the mainroom, it's
Paparazzi and DJ Young Sunn, while upstairs
Bip Jeffington, Joaquin and Spy vs Spy bring you a healthy dose of the new holiday music, electrorock. Fuck Bing Crosby! Free gifts of Paparazzi's new mix CD for the first 100 people, free before 10:30
with flier, 18+.
