Afrika Bambaataa New Weekly NYC, Holiday NYC and more

It's a special night in NYC, legends everywhere. First up, the legendary DJ Afrika Bambaataa is beginning a weekly party in basement of APT (419 W. 13th St.) I mean, this is a pretty big deal, people. Bambaataa was a key figure in the development of hip-hop and electro, his DJ sets are as legendary as they are rare. This should be an amazing night of music and a chance to connect to NYC's past glory in one of its best spaces today. Bambaataa will be joined every week by his fellow resident DJs, Eamon Harkin of the FUN party and Lindsay of Negroclash, two of the best DJs in the city now who deserve a bigger platform. This is the start of something good. Doors at 10pm, down in the basement, $10 cover, 21+.

-Speaking of legends spinning in the basements of my favorite spots, the suddenly ubiquitous Moby is the special guest tonight at the best party in NYC, 205 Tuesdays, at 205 Club (205 Chrystie) The disco-heavy party will get a nice dose of acid I hope tonight, you already know how highly I recommend this one. Tonight will be extra crowded, just wait it out, stay late and you will be rewarded. Residents Justin Miller and Jacques Renault will do their thing, no cover, doors at 11pm, 21+. PS I have total jealous boots over Moby's glasses, as I'm in the market now. If any fashionable girl would like to give me an opinion on the pair I decide on, please contact me.

-You should also check out the Holiday Winter Social at Home Sweet Home (131 Chrystie St), where the booze and music will help you forget that it's winter out there. DJs Fitforuse, Finger On The Pulse, Chris Alker and Sushi Steve will take care of the tunes, expect lots of indie dance, some soul and r&b, some surprises; Bushmill's will take care of the booze with complimentary Bushmill's from 10:30-11:30. Wanna partake in this winter social? RSVP ASAP to music@fotpnyc.com or reply yes at the going.com site. No cover, 21+, doors at 10pm.

-Don't worry if you can't make it out of Brooklyn, as the Do It weekly party at Hugs (108 N. 6th St btwn Berry and Whythe) goes down tonight. A DJ battle between Cheeky Bastard's Alex English and Shinratek also goes down, with resident DJ Carrie Whitenoise as the tie-breaker. Or something like that. No cover, 21+.

-Finally, the big getting bigger dANCE party in LA takes over Arena (6655 Santa Monica Blvd) as it does every Tuesday. This one's on some pure shit, as resident DJs Paparazzi, Bip Jeffington and Joaquin will spin all night for your pleasure. Expect indie dance and electro rock and a big, fun, young crowd. $5 before 10:30 with a flier, 2 for 1 drinks upstairs until 11, doors at 9 pm, 18+.
