Les Bleus Les Bleus Les Bleus

Mang, whatta game today! France played a great game against Brazil today, defeating them 1-0 in the World Cup quarterfinals. Thierry Henry scored the only goal off of an amazing free kick by Zinedine Zidane, and the defense was oppressive. Brazil looked tired and uninspired, but I really think that was a result of the stifiling D of Lilian Thuram, Patrick Viera, Claude Makelele, et al. France deserved to win this game, and it goes to show that the support of Pound for Pound is pivotal in this world. Except for the US team.

This would have Zidane's last game, as the announcers kept repeating throughout the match. But, it's quite clear that Zizou does not want to go quietly into that good night, as he was amazing today and against Spain a few days. It has been a pleasure to watch one of the greats have one final chance to write his legend.

In honor of France's victory today over Brazil, I'm gonna up music coming out of Paris for the next week (well, Wednesday actually, when they play Portugal in the semis). I may concentrate on the madness coming out of Ed Banger Records, but who knows what else I may throw up? If you have recommendations or are doing things in Paris, get in touch as this is your time baby.
