The Return of the Fliers, Disco Down and more

I know it's been a long time since we gave a round-up of the cool parties going on around the world. I've actually been in hibernation as well, so I'm not sure if things came to a grinding halt in the bars and clubs of Philly, NYC, SF, LA, London, Paris and beyond. I imagine they did. I apologize for the absence, but we're back.

Here's a nice one to start back on, a new party for me, Disco Down, Tuesday nights at Happy Ending (302 Broome St.). I'm always a fan of fliers with scantily clad women with tattoos, but I love it even more when the party specializes in britpop, disco and new wave music. DJ Bastard, Nic Marc and Ian Michael Jackson have done both of these things. But, what makes this one extra special is that tonight special guest DJs are The Rakes, the UK indie dance band. The band plays tomorrow at The Knitting Factory, tickets are still available, here's a chance to hear what they listen to and ask them some drunken question about the Klaxons. Upstairs, open vodka bar at 11:30, do it.

-Philly keeps the new party roll going with Bad Music For Bad People at Upstairs at Sal's (12th St. btwn Walnut and Locust). This features He Said/She Said, a male/female DJ duo from Mars and Venus respectively. They're joined by Joe Licht for this weekly. Oooh, but that's not it. You get a DJ set from the one, the only JHN RDN of Hands & Knees/Socket fame who will figure prominently on this site next week. No cover and a chance to check out the renovated Sal's.

-Finally, can't forget about my LA people. A new party starts up there as well, thankfully allowing me to continue this theme! This one's called Seven Sins and features the DJ stylings of DJ *Josh(ua)* and Awesometown's Dirty Dave. Not content to just be a new party, this one's at a new club too! It's called SEVEN (7279 Santa Monica Blvd) and the pictures make it look like a nice, classy place to have a nice, classy midweek night out. Let us know what you think.
