Digitalism - Terrorlight

Digitalism, "Jupiter Room (Erol Alkan's Simple Yet Effective Edit)" (YSI link) 320 for DJs

Daft Punk, "The Brainwasher (Erol Alkan's Horrorhouse dub)"
(YSI link)

It is such a beautiful day, let's start this week off big. Of course, big around these parts means Digitalism songs and Erol Alkan remixes. Bring them together and it's globothermonuclear TNT A bomb shit. Kitsune, one of the best labels in the world (the haters are starting to come out, so they need to stay on top of their game now), has just released a new 12" featuring even more remixes of the German band's best tracks, "Zdarlight" and "Jupiter Room." I'm only putting up the B side, so make sure to grab your copy of the 12" to hear the great Zdarlight remixes. Or cop any of the Kitsune Maison compilations, as they are some of my favorite shit and amazing intros to the whole indie dance world.

Erol didn't lie when he called this a simple yet effective edit. He retained much of the original's sound and vibe, extended the original by a few minutes

-For those in London still lamenting the loss of Trash, it seems like it's replacement as begun at The End (West Central St.) It's called Durr and it goes down every Monday with Rory Phillips, The Lovely Jonjo and Matt Irwin. Tonight, there's a super secret special guest that no one is naming, which leads me to believe that its gonna be a pretty fucking rad choice. To bring this post home, Mr. Alkan will be spinning a set at the May 28th edition of Durr. Yeah!

-G-d damn, LA does not sleep. The Genre are bringing the same party from last night to Hollyhood with Le Castle Vania, Audiojack, Paparazzi, Zendo, DJ S!n and Luv Tek. Put on your best pair of skinny jeans, fix up look sharp and get to Cinespace for some rave-y disco-y electro-y madness.

-I got to spend the weekend in Philly and just had to say how it is the greatest city on earth and if you are looking for a place to move there is nowhere in the world better. The Monday Night Social is the new weekly party going down at Fluid (613 S. 4th St.) and they've brought in special guest Andy Caldwell to kick things off.

-This warm weather just makes my Hall and Oates requests more necessary. Thankfully Lauren Flax and Sam Brown from The Whitest Kids You Know are doing a yacht rock night at Piano's from 6-12 tonight. It's spring, it's the perfect time for weekday drinking, the douchebags won't out in the LES tonight, do this. Two words - Kenny Loggins.
