More Justice Remixes

http://nriinternet.com/Section1/12Movies%20and%20Music/RishiRich/britney_spears_xl.jpg

Britney Spears feat. Madonna, "Me Against The World (Justice remix)"

Vicarious Bliss, "Theme From Vicarious Bliss (Justice remix)"

Scenario Rock, "Skitzo Dancer (Justice remix)"

I bet you didn't expect to see these dudes fucking with everyone's favorite mother, Britney Spears. If that's not enough, everyone's favorite fake Jew Madonna makes another stab at continued relevance, making this a big time pop culture moment. Well, our boys got the call to remix "Me Against The Music," a nice although I can't really say that the remix ever gets to the level of their other work. Not sure if it's the label putting constraints on their remix or a desire to not sound too crazy on this big chance, but it lacks that certain je ne se qua. It's got the crunchy electro sound, but there's just to much Britney vocals on here. It seems like they didn't mess with those much, and I don't think the original is that good and it just doesn't do much for me. Oh, and am I the only person who didn't know that it's Britney and not Brittany. Is that a huge faux pas?

The Vicarious Bliss jawn is the winner amongst this group, in my opinion. A huge bassline sets the stage, but it is a curveball as this is no rager. A spoken rap (not like Def Jam Poetry shit) comes in, and soon the music goes back and forth between the heavy bass alone and mixed with an airy, beautiful synth sound. It's a great song, and a nice chance to hear how the boys can throw you off even in the course of a 3 minute remix. Great stuff. Scenario Rock's "Skitzo Dancer" gets the Justice treatment as well, and this one is just fun, a song all about the dancefloor that seems perfect for getting a crowd psyched up as the night gets rolling. Oddly, the guy singing and rap-talking sounds like Eugene Hutz from Gogol Bordello, but that might just be because it's a non-native English speaker and I'm an ignorant American. I really love the end of the song, when the vocals stop and the guys add handclaps and it all just feels like a party. Then, a "Disco! Disco! Need to Disco!" chant starts up and the world seems perfect.

-France vs Portugal at halftime, leading 1 to nil. I'll be back later with more tunes and links, hopefully, this will be a great second half with lots of goals and a French win.

The Skitzo Dancer mix is done by Daft Punk member Thomas Bangalter. So, the song you posted is mixed by half of daft punk and remixed by justice. Pretty loaded if you ask me - just thought you should know. keep bloggin

Thanks for the Justice tunes, just what I was looking for... and, only because you're tangent of Parisian music, I want to add that it's "je ne sais quois."

Please excuse the pedantry; it's only because--aside from being able to suss out just enough to download MP3s off blogs from France--the seven years of French I took have turned out to be utterly useless.
